Change Things Up if You Want Different Results.
“I applied for six jobs and haven’t heard anything back.” I just want to get interviews.
How to get interviews
In the above scenario, something’s obviously not working. First, you need to accept this is the case. It’s been said that “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” If what you’re doing isn’t working, do something different!
Okay, so how do I do things differently in my job search? You have a couple options at this point: stop applying for advertised positions, start following up on the applications you’ve already put in, or figure out a different way to connect with your dream job. Ideally you should do all three of these things to boost your chances of getting more interviews.
