When coaching a client who hasn’t interviewed in a while, one of the most common things I need to remind them of is that the interview is not about what they want (point #1) – it’s to show how they can solve the hiring manager’s need, how they are a good fit. And having a strong story (point #2) is key to effectively making this point.
